Tactical analysis

Liat.ai analyses the formations, the interesting plays and how the game changes from minute to minute.

Liat.ai joins up both banks of four as they form.

Where and when

Liat.ai gives each moment its context: where it happened, what came before it and the history around the match.

  • Pitch mapping: Liat.ai paints the penalty area, the six yard box and the D onto live match footage.

    Where on the pitch

Liat.ai works out where each action happens: which third of the pitch, which side, and whether it is inside the penalty area.

  • A pass map from Liat.ai's match analysis, with each line running from the passer to where the ball went.

    What came before

Liat.ai keeps a record of the passes before each moment, so the commentary can say how a goal was built.

  • Records and head to head Optional

Liat.ai can bring the records of the two teams and the careers of the players into the commentary. This needs a data source, either one you give us or one that is available online.

When Liat.ai is not sure

An important event is checked before the commentary names it.

  • Multiple models on important events

Separate checks run in parallel to ensure high accuracy.

  • Your data feed confirms it Optional

If you provide a live data feed, Liat.ai can use it as another signal for events.

  • It says when it is not sure

Even a human commentator cannot always be sure. Ours says “that could be a foul”.
